Music Composer- Multi Instrumentalist
Alexandre Ottoveggio began his musical journey at the age of 14 when his father gifted him his first guitar—an old folk model that would become the starting point of a lifelong passion. Influenced by legendary artists such as Dire Straits, J.J. Cale, Eric Clapton, and Pink Floyd, music became a central part of his identity. Among these, Mark Knopfler left the deepest mark on his musical development—a meaningful influence that came full circle when Alexandre met him backstage in New York, thirty years later.
Born in Casablanca, Morocco, Alexandre was also shaped by the rich local rhythms and oriental sounds of his surroundings. Over the years, he taught himself to play several instruments including guitar, piano, harmonica, and percussion, embracing music as a daily discipline and spiritual exploration.
His compositional style blends pop, rock, jazz, country, and fusion, reflecting both his Western influences and Moroccan roots. After forming several rock bands in Casablanca, Alexandre moved toward solo projects, occasionally collaborating with friends musicians. His musical journey has brought him into contact with iconic artists—Mile Davis in Toulouse in 1989, Mark Knopfler in New York in 2015, and most recently, Robert Plant in Marrakech in 2025.
Alexandre has released three albums—two in the rock/pop genre and one in electronic music—constantly exploring new sounds while remaining faithful to his foundational influences. His life in music is a continuous voyage of sound, creation, and cross-cultural resonance.
